Cerro San Antonio, Piriapolis

Cerro San Antonio provides scenic views of the harbor and the city center to the west, the surrounding mountains and forested hills to the north, and a rocky inlet to the east. The hill owes its name to the small round white chapel at its top. Ride a chairlift from the port or hike up the gentle slope to reach the 130 m (426 ft) summit. Halfway up, you will see the statue of Maris Stella Virgin, protector of anglers and sailors. Every January you can watch or join the runners of "Doble San Antonio" race, which follows the path up and down the hill.
