Princeville Botanical Gardens, Princeville

We absolutely loved these gardens and the tour. It was sooooo beautiful and informative. Our guide was wonderful! It was well thought out and paced in a way that neither felt rushed or boring. We took our three kiddos (6, 4 and 2) and they REALLY enjoyed themselves. I’d say the tour is appropriate for kids used to being in nature/hiking that can also listen for up to 5+ minutes at a time. Since it is a group tour, we did try to explain to our kids to use quiet voices, etc. but it was also easy to step a bit away from the group if that wasn’t happening. The chocolate and fruit tastings being spaced throughout the walk helped to keep them (and us) engaged too. Young kids that tend to have a harder time controlling their bodies, respecting boundaries or that really need to run around most of the time may not enjoy the structure of the tour but I’d say most elementary aged kids with a passion for nature and/or science would love it!!! Would be great with infants in a carrier too! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip and we plan to come back next time!!!

We so enjoyed this tour - an amazing garden with hundreds of plants and trees throughout the tour. Our guide, Sarah was knowledgeable and passionate about the garden and the plants. We also learned so much about chocolate, where it comes from and how the area the cocoa plant is grown in and the processing of the bean affects the flavor and consistency. This tour was worth the time and expense. Absolutely beautiful. God’s creation fully loaded!
