  • Our guide, Sierra, was informative and encouraging. The paddle up and wind the river was fun and the hike to the waterfall was beautiful. We enjoyed lunch there and good conversation too!

  • My teenage son and I had a fabulous time on the Ancient River Kayak adventure! We decided to go on this trip because of the conversations we had with various staff members at their store by our hotel, Islander on the Beach. Our guide, Sierra, was fantastic as she helped us navigate kayaking the river, walking the adventurous trails to the waterfall, teaching us about different plants and history of the area along the way, cutting up delicious pineapple for our group, and intentionally getting to know each one of us throughout the morning. Sierra was personable, knowledgeable and educated us enough to feel comfortable and confident to enjoy this trip. It was a highlight of our time in Hawaii!
  • FOR FLAT LANDERS. This adventure was amazing!! Sierra, our guide, was a local and had grown up on the river. She shared stories as we kayaked and hiked. We were able to experience the flora of the island but we’re lucky as the trail had just been cut the week before. We swam in the water at the falls and a couple of our group stood under the falls too. Sierra told us that this was the easiest hiking trail on the island but since we are from northern Indiana ( flat country) we told her that this would be considered rugged where we came from. We crossed one stream with water up to our knees and others that were shallow. We climbed up and down rocks and stream banks and over tangled tree roots. Sierra was helpful to anyone who needed a hand. Thank you Sierra for you wonderful assistance and stories.
