Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S. jurisdiction and one of the oldest in the Americas.
For shopping fun, head to Puerto Rican Art & Crafts or The Poet's Passage. Get outdoors at El Yunque National Forest and Condado Beach. Fajardo is a small city and municipality in Puerto Rico (U.S.) located in the east region of the island, bordering the Atlantic Ocean, north of Ceiba and east of Luquillo. On the 17th (Tue), head off the coast to Cayo Icacos and then stop by Caribbean Trading Company Store.

Little Island

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Escape the urban bustle at Flamenco Beach and Scuba & Snorkeling. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Playa Zoni and Playa Tamarindo. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Museo Historico de Culebra.

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Get in touch with nature at Playa Crashboat and Tres Palmas Marine Reserve. It doesn't end there: visit a coastal fixture at Faro de Punta Higuera.
