Create an itinerary including Domes Beach
A surfer's hotspot, Domes Beach boasts golden sands, deep rolling waves, and shady palms. The nearby old nuclear plant with its teal domed roof gave the beach its name, and will soon be renovated into a science museum. The size of the waves here make it perfect for surfing, and indeed you will see line ups of sun kissed surfers along the cove waiting to catch the perfect wave. Bring a towel, bask in the sun's warm rays and watch the fun. At the right time of year this is also a great spot to do some whale watching. There are no facilities at the beach so bring plenty of water and sunscreen. • Was an ok beach in our opinion. There was lots of seaweed in the water and on the beach. And be careful because lots of sea urchin shells with the spikes still on them mixed in the washed up seaweed. Our kids mostly enjoyed a swing there. There is parking down lower by the beach, but it might require 4WD.
  • Beautiful beach with amazing views. There are a lot of reefs before getting into the water, so take some water shoes. You can collect a lot of sea glass here. There is a bar that has great Mojitos! On the weekends they have a market with various vendors.
