Park and National Palace of Pena
The exotic Park and National Palace of Pena, a World Heritage Site known for its Romanticist architecture, is listed as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. While the foundation of this palace dates back to a chapel in the Middle Ages, the current appearance is mostly the work of German architect Baron Wilhelm Ludwig von Eschwege. He mixed Neo-Gothic, Neo-Manueline, Neo-Islamic, and Neo-Renaissance styles to create this dramatic structure. Tour the palace to admire the building's restored red and yellow facade, interior design, and antique furniture. Pena Palace is beautiful, but the organization is a mess. We booked our tickets online for a timeslot of 11am, an hour after opening. We saw online that people recommend going right for opening...

A very nice palace to visit. The park around it is amazing. A must to see when you go to Lisbon. The inside of the palace is kind of small and the visit is very straightforward. A lot of tourist on site but the line is going fast. The ticket are sold with a time slot so no need to rush.

Beautiful nature and views. We bought tickets in advance online and still had to wait in line in and around the palace. The palace itself wasn’t much to see, but the other things around the palace are great. The Moorish castle is amazing and the small hikes through the woods especially with the lakes are breathtaking .
