Create an itinerary including Mýrdalsjökull
Experience the thrill and the beauty of Mýrdalsjökull, one of Iceland’s foremost natural wonders. The peak of the glacier reaches 1,493 m (4,898 ft) and its thick ice covers the active Katla volcano. Unlike other glaciers that you can only admire from a distance, here you can get up close, and even step onto the ice and taste the frigid water. You'll be able to choose from a variety of tours ranging from snowmobile and Jeep rides, to dog sledding and ice climbing. Because of crevasses and quickly changing and extreme weather conditions, touring the glacier with an experienced guide is recommended. • Snowmobiling on Mýrdarsjökull glacier was amazing. We also tried scooters and made photos of the peaks. I recommend you 100% to try this. After, on the way back to our hotel, we visited city Vík...

  • Superb adventure, it was the coolest ice cave though had to walk for 15-20mins but it’s worth. Need to be prepared for extreme cold and rain ☔️ and careful while walking around as it could be slippery.
  • Amazing icecap. Not many people stop by here. After you park, there is about a kilometer hike. You can just go up it but once you reach the ice stairs, you will realize you need glacier shoes to go any further. The glacier gives off a very pretty teal.
