Create an itinerary including Nautholsvik Geothermal Beach
Sit in the sun, swim, sail, or just unwind after a busy day at Nautholsvik Geothermal Beach. This beach on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean houses an artificial lagoon with large sea walls, where cold seawater and hot geothermal water combine. Try cold-water swimming, which is an Icelandic tradition that goes back to the age of settlement--but beware of hypothermia. The beach features a hot pot, steam bath, snack bar serving hot drinks and chocolate, and kids' playground. Amenities include changing rooms, toilets, showers, and towels and swimsuits you can rent. Dogs, bicycles, and any kind of vehicle traffic are not allowed on the beach. • Extremely nice beach with a nice hot tube. The open sea water very fresh with 4 degree Celsius, outside about 2 , but Lokals went swimming, not just short they did at least 15 minutes , we didn’t. 😳
  • We went there at 9.00am in late April and the tide was low and looks like it wasn’t hot. So many be only summer months?
