Einar Jonsson Museum (Listasafn Einars Jonssonar)
Einar Jonsson Museum (Listasafn Einars Jonssonar) houses artworks by Iceland's first major sculptor, and the artist's penthouse apartment is preserved in its original condition. Jónsson offered all of his works as a gift to the Icelandic people in 1909, and the museum was built soon after, following the artist's design. The main gallery is filled with fantastical sculptures of Vikings and mythical heroes. The sculpture garden with bronze casts of the artist's works was formally opened in 1984. Look for the peculiar ring of stones between the office and museum buildings, put down by the sculptor himself. The museum shop sells plaster casts and postcards of exhibited works, as well as books about Jónsson's life and art. Museum was closed however garden was open and it was a lovely little stop to admire the sculptures. Just across the road from the church so easy to find.

So far I have only seen the statue garden which is full of beautiful statues, extremely calm and resourcing I invite you to pass by and have a look at this deep work and National garden. Prefer visits in the morning

When we arrived the museum itself was closed but the outdoor sculpture museum is always open. You access it from a side gate. Cool funky bronze sculptures dot the park. It’s free and cool to check out.
