Visit one of the country's largest and most-visited urban parks in the heart of the city at Golden Gate Park. The rectangular park is home to numerous museums, lakes, a botanical garden and conservatory, landscaped gardens, and athletic facilities. Spend a relaxing afternoon exploring the Japanese Tea Garden, or tour the previous home of the San Francisco 49ers football team, Kezar Stadium. Pack a picnic to enjoy lakeside or on one of the park's shaded lawns. Due to the park's sheer size, 412 hectares (1,017 acres), you might want to plan to take a bus or free shuttle back to the city center after exploring the park. Je m’attendais à mieux pour un parc de cette envergure... oui il y a des beaux petits lacs avec canards, des beaux endroits pour pique-niquer mais c’est à peu près tout. The Japanese tea garden is worth the trouble, the Buffalo enclosure we have not seen any? The Park is crossed by roads sometimes Highway style (6 lanes) and I had read somewhere that it was better to do it on Sunday since the cars do not have access but for having done it on Sunday, I saw cars everywhere all day so maybe it's v Rai for a small park section or I do not know too much... It is possible to cross it in half a day and get to the end to the Ocean (return by bus). Practically no indication of the trails in the Park, we had no printed card so had to always validate our way on our phone. There were 2 foodtrucks for dinner near the Japanese tea garden, an Indian and a seafood. We ate at the Indian, it was OK without more. 2 plastic tables installed in front of the foodtruck for everyone so insufficient. In short, not my favorite day at SF.
We went to the science museum in golden gate park. There are many attractions there to choose from, but the science museum is by far my favorite!! So so so much to do, see, and learn there! I love it and my kids love it. Amazing in so many ways. I cannot emphasize enough how much I LOVE this place. I would recommend this place to every person!!
Golden Gate Park is one of the most awesome places in San Francisco. It is to San Francisco the same as Central Park is to New York City. It is home to the De Young Museum and the California Academy of Science among other things. You can visit the Botanical Gardens the Aquarium of The Bay and the Conservatory of Flowers , the Japanese Tea Gardens and many other places. It's one of the most beautiful places in the City.
