#1 of 21 in Things to do in San Clemente
Must see · Pier / Boardwalk · Tourist Spot
A great place for surfing and swimming, San Clemente Pier is also an excellent spot for line fishing. Originally built in 1928, the pier was the vision of Ole Hanson, politician and founder of San Clemente. Stroll out onto the boardwalk for views of the palm-tree covered beach, ocean, and the Spanish-style architecture of San Clemente. Cast a line off the end of the pier for a chance to catch mackerel, barracuda, yellowtail, white sea bass, and even spiny lobster. Visit the Pier Shack and Grill on the boardwalk for burgers and seafood.
