#12 of 32 in Parks in Miami
Tropical Park is a 275acre urban park in metropolitan Miami, Florida. The park is located just southwest of the intersection of the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) and Bird Road, just west of South Miami.
The land opened as a county public park in 1979, on the grounds of the former Tropical Park Race Track, which had used the lands since 1931.
It has a boxing center, fields for football, soccer, and softball, as well as facilities to play basketball and volleyball. Tropical Park has a tennis center with 12 tennis courts that are wheelchair-accessible, and racquetball facilities. There are four lakes within the park, a 2acre dog park, as well as paddleboating, and freshwater fishing. Cyclists, joggers, and runners use the miles of paved pathways circulating through park.
Equestrian CenterThroughout the year, the park hosts horse shows, rodeos, and other special events at the Tropical Park Equestrian Center. The equestrian center hosts over 30 horse shows a year, including international shows. The old racetrack's stables were used as part of the equestrian center.

  • Tropical Park is a great place for the entire family. They have soccer fields, baseball / softball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, lakes, picnic areas, farmers market, batting cages, and more. Lots of parking areas all over the park. Ride bike, have a birthday party, and enjoy the outdoors. Close to all kinds of stores, shops, and restaurants. There is no charge to park.
  • If you live in Miami, you know what tropical park is. If you don't, don't fret. Tropical Park is a giant public park where you can go to work out, play sports, have parties, hang out, or do anything that you can at any park. Tropical park has some key features: the big hill, the tennis/basketball courts, the outdoor fitness center, and it's big lake. I actually found one of my bearded dragons here lol. In conclusion, Tropical Park is just a big space to do any type of outdoor activity.
