Watch Java monkeys dive into pools to fetch a snack from a guide's hand at Monkey Jungle. The Java monkey troop was introduced into the area in 1933 and thrived in the mangrove swamps. This troop and the other 30 species of primates now roam freely among the trees. Catch sight of their playful swinging and curious exploring as you walk through the protected area. Ask about monkey feeding times when you enter. For a better value, visit the attraction's website for a discount coupon. Monkey Jungle Reviews
We got there when they opened. Made all the shows. Buy the monkey food. It is cool to watch the monkeys pull up the chain to get the food in the little cup. You can't touch then. We didn't do the Rain... more »
It's a long way from Downtown about 10 miles from the Zoo. You are in the cage and the monkeys are over and around you. $30 a person. free parking, you will buy monkey food. Plan an hour it's not that... more »
Very fun experience - $20 or go will get you in to check out everything and to join the group presentations with info about the different animals. I suggest doing the private tour with the squirrel monkeys. It's about $90 a person, which at first can shock you, but in my opinion is worth it. You really can't interact with monkeys like this anywhere else. They don't rush you in and out so you'll get plenty of time plus the food/treats they give you to feed them are unlimited. They also let you take as many photos and videos as you want. Staff is great and it's a fun time.
Honestly one of the coolest experiences you can have, it's well worth paying to feed the monkey's and do the rainforest tour. It's such a hidden gem that I would 100% recommend, you really learn a ton and the staff is great, knowledgeable and super friendly! We'll definitely be going again in the future as it really made our trip to Miami above all else. I should note I've seen people mentioning the bad conditions and from what we saw the monkeys had plenty of enrichment, space and didn't have to do anything that they didn't want to, staff was actively cleaning cages and running around doing something for them at all times.
