In 2005, a new central entrance hall and a six-story atrium were added to World Museum. After you pass through this grand atrium, you'll find galleries filled with archaeological, ethnological, and scientific artifacts. Inside, the World Cultures gallery allows you to explore the world without leaving Liverpool. If strange creatures are your passion, then check out the Bug House. Admission to the attraction, and the in-house planetarium, is free. Inspirock's itinerary builder makes planning a Liverpool trip simple and quick.

  • Great the way they keep bringing new exhibitions there. So each time you visit there's something new to see. The shop is really good now, with some great things to buy. The Egyptian part is particularly good and I have bought so many things from it for my own little exhibition.
  • Lots to see. Very interesting. Spread out over four floors with lift access to all floors. Very nice cafe as well. Highly recommend the sausage roll.
  • Great place for families, lots to do and see also great area of Liverpool as surrounded by lots of lovely old buildings, I never realised Liverpool was so interesting! Of course most of museums are free including this one. We walked to Albert docks after and past The Cavern Club which we popped in to to have a nose; well worth doing a bit of walking about to appreciate the architecture, my boys 9 and 14 enjoyed the museums and didn't moan about walking for once!
  • Not bad considering it was free entry. Not as good as I remember though, and it seems as if it is aimed towards children. Certain areas seem a little run down, for example, some exhibits had such poor lighting you couldn't read about it, or information sheets had ripped off the wall. Really enjoyed the natural history and bug exhibition, but was disappointed that the ancient Egypt section was advertised but not actually open, wasted quite a bit of time looking for this! Cafe was poor, only filter coffee, un-tidy tables and poor selection of sandwiches.
  • Fabulous newly refurbished Egyptian Gallery! Excellent well - educated and friendly staff. The exhibitions hosted here are world-class.
