Anfield Stadium, Liverpool

4.6
It’s often said jokingly that to understand Liverpool you must first understand its music and its football (soccer). Well Anfield Stadium boasts an iconic, almost spiritual place that enables you to fully appreciate the latter. The stadium--which serves as the home of Liverpool Football Club--has been around since 1884, and it’s not an understatement to say that it has become one of city’s most famous buildings; to step into Anfield is to step into the metaphorical heart of half the city’s football fans. Few experiences in sport match the spectacle of the Liverpool faithful singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" (from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "Carousel") in unison to greet their team. If you can't score a ticket to catch this in person, a tour can still help you soak in the stadium's atmosphere. • Anfield is both classy and modern. I am a Liverpool fan so this my place. There is also a food restaurant called Boot room. Especially pasta carbonara is perfect.  more »
  • I was a couple of years ago to explore the stadium, but always wanted to be at the game. Get your tickets at Anfield-a pipe dream of the head. But we made it!! Liverpool FC legends match vs. Bayern was an incredible experience-full Stadium, singing the greatest club anthem-you'll never walk alone, the reactions to what is happening on the pitch and not family picnic as it takes place on the Spanish stadiums. You can also go to the Club and corporate Museum Store (open for 2 hours after the match).

  • Brilliant tour. So much better than expected. Very modern tour, touch screen audio description tour that you can take at your own pace and skip some bits you may have already seen. Tour guides very knowledgeable and friendly. We did miss the away team dressing room as it was hidden quite well, but they let us go back to have a look. Not my first visit, but my first tour. Recommended.
  • Fantastic club. Excellent facilities. Staff helpful and very friendly. Ground and museum tour excellent. Ex players take tours and answer questions. Mighty red also makes an appearance and they will pose for photos and sign autographs
  • Went with the husband and children and it was an excellent tour. Worth every penny. All the staff are friendly and passionate about the club. If I wasn't a United fan I would have given it 5 stars.
  • Great experience with very friendly staff. Only one issue the lady taking the money did not say when the stadium was closing. So last bit was rushed. No big problem but it would have been good to pace the visit. That is less time with the static displays.
  • Magnificent, heaven on earth. The great structure ever built by humankind. You can feel the history with every step you take. Every brick laid down, you see the blood, sweat and tears. Must go place before you die. Should be considered as one of the wonders of the world.
