High in the Andean foothills, Quito remains one of the world's most photogenic capital cities, featuring two dramatic mountain ranges as its backdrop.
Get a sense of the local culture at Casa del Alabado and Maquipucuna Reserve. Museum-lovers will appreciate Museo de la Ciudad and Museo franciscano del Padre Almeida - Convento de san Diego. Step out of Quito with an excursion to Termas de Papallacta in Papallacta--about 1h 20 min away. Spend the 4th (Tue) among the fascinating landscape of Cotopaxi National Park. Saddle up on the 6th (Thu) and explore with a tour on horseback. There's still lots to do: get the lay of the land with Walking tours, pause for some photo ops at La Virgen del Panecillo, explore the world behind art at Centro Cultural Metropolitano, and walk around Parque Metropolitano.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Mariscal Sucre International Airport and Cotopaxi International Airport. June in Quito sees daily highs of 73°F and lows of 59°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
