For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 10th (Sun), contemplate the long history of Puerto Ferro Lighthouse, then kick back and relax at Blue Beach, and then kick back and relax at Caracas Beach.

On the 11th (Mon), get engrossed in the history at Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, then stop by Spicy Caribbee, then stroll the grounds of San Juan Cemetery, and finally contemplate the long history of Old San Juan. Keep things going the next day: get to know the fascinating history of Paseo de la Princesa, then stop by Ole Curiosidades, and then appreciate the extensive heritage of San Juan National Historic Site.
