With a scenic position on a sheltered bay, Montezuma remains one of Costa Rica's quieter destinations, attracting mostly backpackers and other explorers averse to making detailed travel plans.
Escape the urban bustle at Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve and Playa Quesera. Step out of Montezuma with an excursion to Tortuga Island in Puntarenas--about 56 minutes away. The adventure continues: take in the dramatic scenery at Montezuma Falls, trot along with a tour on horseback, relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers, and look for all kinds of wild species at Wild Sun Rescue Center.

Take a break from the city and head to Cahuita National Park and Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica. Get out of town with these interesting Cahuita side-trips: Puerto Limon (Veragua Rainforest Park, Tortuguero Canal, & more).
