Riga, Latvia to Shanghai is an approximately 14.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 6 hours traveling from Riga to Shanghai. Traveling from Riga in January, things will get somewhat warmer in Shanghai: highs are around 11°C and lows about 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel to Auckland.
