With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Place de la Bourse (Place Royale) and Chateau Paloumey are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Popular historic sites such as La ville d'Hiver and Eglise Sainte-Radegonde de Talmont are in your itinerary. Change things up with these side-trips from Bordeaux: Eglise monolithe Saint-Jean (in Aubeterre-sur-Dronne), Chateau Cantenac (in Saint-Emilion) and Cathedrale St-Front (in Perigueux). There's still lots to do: indulge your senses at some of the top wineries in the area, don't miss a visit to Grosse Cloche de Bordeaux, explore the historical opulence of Chateau Saint Ahon, and see the interesting displays at Musee d'Aquitaine.

Known as one of the greatest small cities in the world, Amsterdam charms visitors with its cool and cozy atmosphere.
Start off your visit on the 26th (Thu): explore the world behind art at Rijksmuseum, then wander the streets of The Jordaan, and then explore the galleries of Anne Frank House.

A global center of finance and transportation, Frankfurt is perhaps best known for its futuristic cityscape.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Schloss Heidelberg and Romer. Your inner history buff will appreciate Vieille Ville and Schlossgarten Fulda. Get out of town with these interesting Frankfurt side-trips: Church of the Holy Ghost (Heiliggeistkirche) (in Heidelberg), Klosterkirche Lobenfeld (in Lobbach) and Schwetzingen Schloss (in Schwetzingen). There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral of St. Bartholomew (Dom St. Bartholomaus), step into the grandiose world of Burg Thurant, contemplate the long history of Gerlachschmiede, and take some stellar pictures from Main Tower.
