Known for its own microclimate that is generally milder than the rest of the French Riviera, Menton is located very close to the border with Italy, whose influence is visible in the architecture and customs of the city.
On the 2nd (Fri), pick up some local products at Marche des Halles de Menton, then explore the world behind art at Jean Cocteau Museum Collection Severin Wunderman, then stop by Au Pays du Citron, and finally steep yourself in history at Basilica St. Michel. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the architecture and atmosphere at La Chapelle des Pénitents-Blancs, kick back and relax at Palmes Beach, and then stroll the grounds of Cemetery of the Old Chateau.
