You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Fisherman's Bastion and Heroes' Square will appeal to history buffs. Do your shopping at Central Market Hall and Herend Shop. Next up on the itinerary: see the interesting displays at House of Terror, take a stroll through Andrassy Avenue, steep yourself in history at Liberty Statue, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Janoshegy.

Cairo, Egypt to Budapest is an approximately 8-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern European Time (EET) to Central European Time (CET), which is usually a -1 hour difference. The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Head to Naschmarkt and Manner Shopfor some retail therapy. Belvedere Palace and Dorotheum will appeal to museum buffs. There's lots more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Schoenbrunn Palace, look for gifts at Altmann & Kühne, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Stephen's Cathedral, and make a trip to Judenplatz.

Getting from Budapest to Vienna by car takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or fly. In July, daytime highs in Vienna are 31°C, while nighttime lows are 18°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Sat) so you can travel to Salzburg.

Prague lures millions of tourists each year with its World Heritage-listed medieval city center--a labyrinth of narrow lanes, bridges, cathedrals, and palaces overlooked by a thousand-year-old castle.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Prague Astronomical Clock and Prague Castle. Shop till you drop at DOX Centre for Contemporary Art and Manufaktura. There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Old Town (Stare Mesto), don't miss a visit to Old Town Square, admire the landmark architecture of St. Vitus Cathedral, and stop by ARTĚL Design Store.
