Though the town of Sagres has roots in the Portuguese Age of Discovery, it is better known by visitors as a peaceful, rugged resort spot with great surfing beaches.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Wed): kick back and relax at Praia da Luz, then contemplate the long history of Fort of Santo Antonio de Belixe, then get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and finally make a trip to Cape Saint Vincent.
