A trip to San Jose, the capital, commercial center, and cultural hub of Costa Rica, gives you a chance to experience the lively atmosphere and rich cultural past of this vibrant country.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Sun): admire the masterpieces at Museo de Arte Costarricense, then get engrossed in the history at Museo Nacional De Costa Rica, then get engrossed in the history at Jade Museum, and finally listen to music at Teatro Nacional Costa Rica. Keep things going the next day: admire the natural beauty at Jardin Botanico Lankester, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Santuario Nacional Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles, then steep yourself in history at Ruins of the Church of Carthage, and finally explore the galleries of Galeria Namu.

Venice, Italy to San Jose is an approximately 17.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 7 hours traveling from Venice to San Jose. Traveling from Venice in January, things will get much hotter in San Jose: highs are around 30°C and lows about 21°C.
