Get a sense of the local culture at Reykjavik 871 +/- 2 The Settlement Exhibition and Volcano House. Visit Reykjavik Open Air Museum and Grotta Lighthouse for their historical value. Step out of Reykjavik to go to Keflavik and see Stekkjarkot, which is approximately 50 minutes away. Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
On the 17th (Fri), pause for some serene contemplation at Akureyrarkirkja, then see the interesting displays at The Motorcycle Museum of Iceland, then take an in-depth tour of The Old Farmhouse Laufas, and finally take in the dramatic scenery at Godafoss. On the 18th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Catholic Church (Katholska Kirkjan), shop like a local with Linda Ola - Studio & Gallery, steep yourself in history at Matthiasarhus, then see the interesting displays at The Aviation Museum, and finally trot along with a tour on horseback.

Take a trip to Skogar for a chance to see a picture-perfect glacier and a collection of waterfalls fed by the Skoga River.
Step off the beaten path and head to Reynisfjara Beach and Skogafoss. Step out of the city life by going to Seljalandsfoss and Myrdalsjokull Glacier. And it doesn't end there: explore the striking landscape at Dyrholaey, Head underground at Rutshellir Cave, kick back and relax at Black Sand Beach, and get engrossed in the history at Skogasafn.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Akureyri to Skogar in 5.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Plan for a bit warmer nights when traveling from Akureyri in March since evenings lows in Skogar dip to 34°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Tue) to allow time to drive to Selfoss.
