Samphran Elephant Ground & Zoo, Nakhon Pathom

#4 of 11 in Things to do in Nakhon Pathom
Ride on the back of an elephant at Samphran Elephant Ground & Zoo, or view one of the daily shows featuring these gentle giants playing soccer and reenacting historical battles. The zoo allows you to get up close to the creatures and feed them fruit and sugar cane, and during the breaks between shows you can ride them around the local garden. Catch one of the crocodile shows to see trainers wrestle and play with the reptiles. The zoo houses a small collection of other animal species, including twin Bengal tigers, and lets you take pictures with them for an extra charge. Note that multiple visitors have reported less than desirable conditions for the animals here; if you're concerned about this, you may want to research the latest reviews or consider visiting a facility that focuses on conservation rather then entertainment. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Nakhon Pathom holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Samphran Elephant Ground & Zoo and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Any place that offers elephant rides or forces the elephants to perform tricks is, without a doubt, torturing and abusing the elephants. Please do not go here. Get your entertainment fix from sources that don't involve animal abuse.
  • This place have two main attraction, CROCS and ELEPHANTS, most people might like and some will not, some parents might saw the cruelty of the animals but the kids will enjoy it, but over all the is OK, the farm take care of the animals but some animals might be in a too small compartment such as the lion and monkey
