Wat Yannawa, Bangkok

3.9
Wat Yannawa is an old Buddhist temple dating back to the Ayutthaya period, located in the Sathon district of Bangkok on Charoen Krung Road, Bangkok, Thailand. It has a unique junk shaped chedi and viharn built by King Rama III. The idea behind the construction was that Chinese junk was quickly disappearing and the pagoda should show present descendants what it looked like. The temple was known as Wat Khok Khwai during Ayutthaya era and Wat Khok Krabue during Thonburi and early Bangkok era before the construction of the chedi.

He was the reserve of the land, helping the country out of the colonial period until now independence... lay the foundations of religion. The art of culture that draws a good point, combining the strengths of Thai and Chinese arts. It is unique to the most popular form of King Rama III and with long-lasting eyes. • In ancient times, sailing was an important means of transportation for businessmen to do business. During the Ming Dynasty, Chinese merchants came to Siam in long- and red sailboats, bringing many business opportunities to Siam at that time. To commemorate the prosperity of the sailboat siam, King Rama III of Siam, who modeled on the red-headed ship, built the dragon boat temple, which looked like a boat. Just, this temple is not at sea, on the Chao Phraya River! The Dragon Boat Temple is the most lively at the annual Loy Krathong Festival in Thailand. Because local believers will come to the temple to celebrate this annual Thai festival. The shape of such a special temple of course to clock out! Admission: Free Opening hours: 8am to 6pm
