  • Before leaving France, we had booked for a walk in the Klong Bang Luang for 5 people with lunch and paid in advance via the Paypal account (7600 baht or 235 euros). A driver sent by the agency Tailaroute was supposed to pick us up on Monday, July 29 at 8:00 am at our hotel the Lamphu tree house. On the scheduled day, no driver ever showed up all day. To date, we have not received any messages, emails or phone calls; however, the sum was debited. A nice scam! In the end we headed to the boarding port of Talat in the early afternoon and took a 1.5 hour ride in the klongs for 600 baths per person. If I had to start over, I will not bother with this agency by settling in advance because it is easy to find the same day on the spot for a lower price with the guarantee not to get ripped off

  • We took a walk on the Bangkok klongs with Chloe (our Thai guide who speaks French very well). We first waited for our group (we were two french couples) we paid before leaving and then we took the boat. We walked 4 hours on the klongs with Chloe. She told us anecdotes, the daily lives of people living on the klongs and told us everything she knew about the plants, animals etc that live in Bangkok. We made a first stop at the floating market (which is ultimately not really floating since there were only two boats on the water). This market (on the ground) was very beautiful: lots of locals, few tourists, spices, fruits, vegetables, meat, fish etc. It's a real mix of flavours, colors and smells. Chloe took the opportunity to tell us about the fruits and vegetables of Thailand. Sometimes we could taste it. She bought everything she needed to buy us food at the end of the walk. Our second stop was at the orchid farm. Very nice place. She taught us and made us smell lots of beautiful different flowers. Finally we ate at his aunt's. We tasted a lot of different things coming straight from the market. We recommend this experience to see another side of Bangkok and the life of the locals. Thank you Chloe!
