Lhong 1919 (Thai: ล้ง 1919; Chinese: 廊 1919) is a tourist attraction on the west bank of Chao Phraya River in Bangkok's Thonburi side in concept similar to Asiatique The Riverfront in Phra Nakhon side. Located at bottom of the Chiang Mai Road, Khlong San Sub-District, Khlong San District, Bangkok, Thailand.

Lhong 1919 is a historic port and warehouse in siheyuan style (Chinese courtyard architecture). It was built in 1850 as a port for shipping from overseas such as British Malaya, Mainland China or British Hong Kong by Phraya Pisansuphaphol (Chuen), a wealthy Thai-Chinese and the owner of international shipping. He was an ancestor of the Pisolyabutra family, whose descendants include Luang Sathonrachayut or Yom Pisolyabutra, who was the founder of Khlong Sathon and Sathon Road. Its name is derived from the word Huang Chung Lhong (火船廊; lit: steamer port), which is an old name.

In 1919, the Wanglee family was acquired and finally became owner.

Until October 2016, Wanglee family renovated it as a tourist attraction and a new landmark of Khlong San and Tha Din Deang area. Restoration completed and it was officially opened on evening of November 2, 2017 with Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul Tourism and Sports Minister presiding with many guests in the high society such as Sirikitiya Jensen, Nualphan Lamsam, Chadathip Jutrakul, Piyapas Bhirombhakdi etc.
Lhong 1919, there are eateries, cafés, photography spots, art and craft shops, co-working space, learning center about Thai-Chinese relations history and resting place with good atmosphere along the river.

The centre point of this place is the large shrine to Mazu, the goddess of the sea and seafaring according to Chinese beliefs since ancient times. This shine was built from the Wanglee family to own this place. The air is heavy with the scent of incense and smoke and many people will kneel to say a prayer.
And since November 2018, after it has been fully operational for a year. The area adjacent to the Chao Phraya River has been converted into an outdoor stage for theatrical performances since then.

  • The reviewer martinandjane7 pretty much said it all. Perhaps it is more vibrant at night. And there's not really much "heritage" here--just a couple of one-sentence plaques.  more »
  • Beginning to think we went to a different place to the other reviewers. We went on the hoho boat. The place was deserted and to all intents and purposes seemed closed. Only place that looked open was....  more »

  • Loved everything about this slice of China in the midst of Bangkok, so beautifully designed and located by the riverside. Worth spending an entire evening here, if you don't have the luxury of spending an entire day - you could even combine this with your Chinatown visit and relax here, besides shop, eat, drink and appreciate art installations. Easily accessible by the Tourist Boat and oh, a great spot for your 'gram!
  • An old Chinese mansion renovated to be a new attraction in Bangkok. It hasn't been discovered by a lot of tourists yet (03-01-2019) so it's not that busy yet and you can enjoy in peace. It's a sort of little museum, but also has stores and places to eat. I enjoyed the visit here, even though it was a bit hard to get here since most taxi drivers don't know where it is yet
