Cooking with Poo and Friends Reviews
Wir waren schon viele Male in Bangkok und nun schon zum zweiten Mal bei Poo im Kochkurs. Wir können den Besuch bei Poo bedingungslos weiterempfehlen! Hier kommt man mit einer anderen Seite von Bangkok... more »We have been to Bangkok many times and now for the second time with Poo in the cooking class. We can recommend your visit to Poo unconditionally! Here you come into contact with another side of Bangkok and experience a lot off the beaten away tourism trails. It is highly recommended to book the cooking class on time via the Poo homepage. In Bangkok you are then picked up by a van from a place well accessible by public transport. The first item on the programme is the purchase of the ingredients in a huge market. Here you are also the only tourist, as only locals shop here. The walk across the market is interesting and you get to see the most diverse spices, fruits and vegetables etc. and you can see explanations about what you do with it. But you should definitely put on waterproof footwear! One should also be concerned that one is in Asia and the animals on offer (fish, crabs, frogs, etc.) are not always presented in a very animal-friendly way. Anyone who has problems here should say so and leave out the relevant market part. After visiting the market, one is driven to Poo's apartment in the Khlong Toei slum. The kitchen is squeaky clean and you quickly notice that familiar standards are being adhered to there as well. A 4-course menu is cooked (a different one every weekday). Poo or one of her employees cook the dish and then you can cook yourself. You get explained in detail how to prepare the ingredients and prepare the dish. Everyone is then allowed to eat their finished dish together with the other participants at the big table. By the way, Poo also tells a lot of interesting and thoughtful things about life in the slum and her project. It is encouraging that such projects do so much positive effect The cooking is well explained. The recipes can then be taken into lovingly, even sewn cloth bags. Several other reviews also read that the courts are not very demanding. That may be partly true. However, they are very authentic and taste very tasty. The tips and explanations for preparation are essential. Just because dishes are quick and easy to cook after doesn't have to be negative. There is also a cookbook by Poo, which we like to take at home. There would still be a lot to report, but I think anyone interested should just give it a try. We feel very connected to Poo and her nice employees and are very happy to support her idea and concept. We are glad to have met her. Keep going so poo! We are looking forward to the next time.
We were traveling with a group of 9 people and we all participated in the cooking class and everyone loved it! We met at a hotel where they shuttled us to a wet market. We learned a lot about the mark... more »
An amazing experience and recommended for anyone visiting Bangkok. Poo is an inspiration.
Wow! This was a fantastic experience in every way. The variety of dishes we cooked was just right. The informative tour of the market and all the fruit to taste at the end was just incredible. Thank you.
