Not easy to access but definitely a place well worth a visit. The art house is perfect little coffee shop which will let you experience what life is like to live on the river. Grab a coffee and watch the boats and people go by in what can be described as a total chilled out environment. Try to visit when the puppet show is on as well.
Beautiful and serene, a great place to relax for a few hours. The puppet show on Saturday is also better than you would expect when you think "puppet show" or "cultural", fairly slapstick although almost entirely in Thai so it might help if you bring a Thai friend or guide if you want to understand the cultural background that they explain in the beginning. The walk along the Khlong is quite charming too and very calming. Local restaurants on the khlongside walk are fairly cheap for Bangkok and provide generous portions for the price. There is also an old temple a bit of a walk further down that has a kind of old fashioned charm to it, something that is missing from the more glamorous and well maintained temples in the rest of the city.
