Bang Pa In Palace reviews

We visited as part of a tour of Ayutthaya, so were here for about 90-120 minutes. It was absolutely massive and perfectly maintained. The whole place was truly stunning. We didn’t opt to use a golf... more »
This beautifully maintained, 20 hectare complex has a long and interesting history and an eclectic collection of buildings which reflect the wide range of cultural and architectural influences on Thai royal family during the 19th century. The buildings are set well apart so it takes some time, a couple of hours on foot, to do the palace complex justice. It is quite a distance to cover the whole area and there is not a lot of shade, so a hat, sunscreen, and an electric golf cart is useful if you wish to see the whole complex inside a couple of hours. The ticket price includes a very useful map and information on all the major buildings, and it is worth taking a moment to consult this, particularly if you do not have a local guide.
Very impressive palace complex that combines architecture styles of many different places and periods. We spent an idyllic two hours wandering around the grounds marveling at the different structures and landscaping. One especially nice thing is that the palace isn’t as heavily trafficked as some other tourist destinations in the area, so it was nice to get some fresh air and not feel crowded or congested.
