#32 of 1,793 in Things to do in Barcelona
One of the most attractive and popular squares in Barcelona, Placa Reial dazzles with its architecture by day and entertains with its restaurants and nightclubs by night. Francesc Daniel Molina i Casamajó designed the plaza in the 19th century, and famed local architect Antoni Gaudí later created the lanterns that decorate it. All you really need to do is pull up a seat at a cafe, watch passersby, and soak up the atmosphere. • It is a square known for the Gas light of Gaudi. I went for a walk at the end of the year, but as usual, the bar around the square and the terrace of the restaurant made tourists relax. Because there is a souvenir shop, it is a good place to walk while peeping. It's a good place to have a beer at night and chat with them in the warmer months. The sound of the car is noisy by all means on the terrace along the road, but there is no such noise because it is a square here.

  • Square located next to the legendary area of Las Ramblas. I recommend it to take a walk and little more. The bars that are in the vicinity are the typical ones focused for the tourism.
