Piscines Bernat Picornell, Barcelona

Go for gold at Piscines Bernat Picornell, an olympic-sized public swimming pool that was the host of the pentathlon in the 1992 Summer Olympics. The swimming complex has three pools to chose from, a 50 m (164 ft) indoor pool, a 50 m (164 ft) outdoor pool, and a diving pool. Since its glory days, the site has hosted diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and swimming competitions. The pool was originally built in 1970 and holds up to 3,000 spectators. You'll also find lifeguards, a sauna, jacuzzi, gym, and on-site cafe as part of the facilities.   • A rare treat to be able to swim in a 50 metre pool, let alone an Olympic venue! Sparklingly clean water in the outdoor pool was a comfortable temperature, and the locals clearly take a pride in their....  more »

  • Very nice swimming pool and gym room with pretty good machines. Weak point: Lockers, showera and changing room would really need a refresh.
