The upper ridge, named Pollegó Superior, has an elevation of 2,506.4 m while the secondary peak, el Calderer is 2,496.4 m high. The ridge below, Pollegó Inferior is 2,444.8 m tall, while Enforcadura's highest point lies at 2,356.2 m.LocationLocated within the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, Pedraforca has been declared a Natural Site of National Interest by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The closest villages to Pedraforca are Gósol to the west and Saldes to the east. Pedraforca marks the boundary between the two municipalities, as well as between the provinces of Barcelona and Lleida.SignificancePedraforca is, along with the mountains of Montserrat and Canigó, one of the emblematic mountains of Catalonia. This fame has made Pedraforca a popular destination for hikers and rock climbers, as well as being used by the comarca of Berguedà in its coat of arms.

  • First time we visit it took us a few friends, nature in its purest form, please that do not touch the man, if you like trekking is perfect for losing their trails and fill the lungs with fresh air.

  • We start from the basis that there are different paths to reach its two peaks, which are the upper Pollego and lower Pollego. I will tell you the experience of our own, which I believe is the cool and it makes more people. It starts from the Mirador de Gresolet, where we leave the car. We climbed down a path that a kilometer approximately takes us up to the Refugio de Lluís Estasen. The views from this large meadow are spectacular, showing us also the Pedraforca from her skirt. We got between a large trees, very green, where we could also see different variety of mushrooms. Suddenly, a great pedregal, which we take to the right until you reach the Coll of the Verdet. From there it time Grimpar to the top. Spectacular views at this point, at the top we had a day of fog that came and went so from the top we could not do much more. We enter the round dish that brings us back again to Lluís Estasen, increasingly are less stones, so that a path are alternately marked, if you take it there is no loss to the refuge. A very cool trip. Recommendation: The mountain city

  • Great views from the top. I would give it 5 stars but we found the climb up much more challenging than expected. We took the harder route up and I would suggest you only do this if you are experienced climber/scrambler. One route is much more treacherous than the other and is more physically demanding. Do your research before you start the climb.
