Halaszbastya, Budapest

4.6
The seven fairy tale-like towers of Halaszbastya offer views of the Danube and Pest side of the city. Built in the late 19th century and restored after World War II, this Neo-Gothic and Neo-Romanesque structure within World Heritage Site Buda Castle takes its name from the medieval fisherman who defended these city walls. On the Buda side of the city, walk up or take a funicular to the top of Castle Hill to get to the bastion, near the 14th-century Matthias Church. Step inside one of the seven towers for spectacular views across the Danube River. • Personally I like the fisherman's bastion beautiful than the parliament building. Beautiful view over the Danube and the other side with the parliament building. Shops and restaurants are available. Souveniers are more expensive here than in the center.

  • A very beautiful place, a wonderful ensemble is located in the hilly district of Buda, it offers beautiful views of the city, and it from the waterfront. You can walk on it for hours! So much interesting, mesmerizing, epic! Be sure to visit!

  • This was one of the amazing attractions we visited in Budapest 😍. The view is stunning. In some places you need to buy a ticket, but you can visit more without one. It's nice that from place to place, there is a map with all the attractions. In one day, I can say that you can visit almost 60% of the best attractions from Budapest. I recommend to visit this place. I included a photo with the prices for Mathias church, for the tower and for the bastion.
  • A really beautiful and gorgeous place. You can basically see almost everything up there. There is also a church that is finely detailed which is really pretty. This is a really great place if you want to see Budapest in a really beautiful way. It is also great to take your family and/or special other.
