  • It is one of the most evocative places in the city center. The high wall around it is covered with small plates, each named after one of the 11,000 Jews in Frankfurt who died in the concentration camps. To access the interior you have to ask for the key in the nearby Jewish Museum. They are delivered without problem whenever an ID is left. We closed the door behind us and wandered among a third of the original headstones that survived Nazi destruction. Free entry. Tram access (line 11) April 2019.

  • It is the largest of the 12 Jewish cemeteries in the city, and with the new Jewish cemetery and the main cemetery in Frankfurt constitute one of the largest cemetery areas in Germany. It is famous for the presence of monumental tombs and for the graves of people who have left their mark in the course of their lives. Beautiful and dramatic at the same time. A must-see if you go to Frankfurt. TO VISIT!!!

  • Sobering!! painful!! reality!! Definitely worth the time there to linger in truth and honor those long passed! The Judengasse museum should be visited as well...and given higher priority over the many many museums Frankfurt has to visit. Let us never forget!!
