Built in 1867 to support horse and carriage traffic over the River Main to the train station, Iron Bridge offers stunning views of Frankfurt's skyline and most historic buildings. Cars are not allowed on the bridge, making it an ideal place for a romantic walk or a pensive stroll. Along the railings and bridge structure, you'll find hundreds of padlocks placed here by couples as a symbol of their unending love. The bridge connects the city's historic quarter with the Sachsenhausen district, where plentiful museums and pubs serve typical German cider. Una breve deviazione e ti ritrovi un luogo del tutto diverso dal carattere della città, con tanto di navi e approdi. Il ponte è tempestato dei lucchetti degli innamorati. more »
A short detour and you find yourself a place completely different from the character of the city, complete with ships and landings. The bridge is studded with the locks of lovers.View original -
more »
On the day we left Frankfurt, we took a morning walk. It is a pedestrian bridge over the River Main. Across the river, the South side is lined with many museums, including the Stedel Museum, and is also known as Museum Street. It's a great place to take a walk, but it's cold in the morning and evening, so dress warm.View original

Such an awesome place to visit. Plenty of love locks. And the surroundings are too good to roam around. You have an excellent view from the bridge while the boats, ships pass underneath. You'll find plenty of shopping near by and Sunday's there is an open market where you get clothes, chains, fancy necklace, etc. Good place to visit during weekends. Enjoy

Very interesting bridge. It kind of reminds me of the one in Budapest, same colour but bigger. It has a lot of locks, all shapes and colours. I saw somewhere that this bridge is also known as Love Bridge. 🤩. It is pedestrian only and at the middle you can feel the movement of the bridge in windy days.
