Rio Celeste, Tenorio Volcano National Park

Trek into the rainforest and observe the colorful waters of Rio Celeste. Located at the meeting point of two rivers, and near a dramatic waterfall, the water is colored by the special minerals found in the rocks and riverbed, creating an excellent scene to admire and photograph. Unfortunately, you can no longer swim in the vibrant waters, but the hike through the jungle and the chance to see the natural phenomenon make the experience worthwhile. Be sure to bring sturdy boots for the trail, and don’t forget your camera. • You should go with sneakers, and comfortable clothes. Inside the national park you can't get into the river. To reach the dyes you have to walk about an hour and a half. Bring water. It can rain at any time. To reach the waterfall you must go down 250 bleachers.
