Safari Surf School made my vacation to Nosara. I came to town on a whim to learn how to surf but with no plans. I ended up taking daily private lessons with Pio and made a ton of progress over the week. He had a ton of experience teaching and it made a huge difference. He was able to coach me to quick improvement. As an aside - I ended up being pushed into lessons by the hotel I stayed at during check-in and felt like the first two days of my trip were a bit disappointing because of this. It was clear the instructor didn't have much experience at all teaching, it clearly showed, and was really frustrating. It wasn't even much less expensive. Don't waste your precious time - go with the pros!
I just spent a wonderful week with the folks at Safari Surf School in Nosara, Costa Rica. From making arrangements to my actual time there, everything was perfect. The staff will make you feel like family and welcome you with open arms. Tim (the owner) is based in the US but don’t worry, you’re in more than capable hands. There’s a good reason these folks have been around since the late 90s. You’re going to have a blast!
