Trip Planner: South Pacific / Australia / Queensland / Daintree Region / Cow Bay / Daintree Discovery Centre
A multi-award winner, Daintree Discovery Centre is nestled in the heart of the rainforest, 10 kilometres north of the Daintree River. The Centre is a 'must see' for anyone visiting the area and where you can experience the rainforest at every level - from the forest floor to the upper most reaches of the canopy. From the top of the 23 metre high Canopy Tower you can see spectacular orchids and if you're lucky you might just spot a python curled up in a giant basket fern. The spectacular Aerial Walkway provides unprecedented access to the mid level rainforest. You may see a Cassowary with a clutch of chicks wandering along the creek below. The Display Centre has a DVD theatre with films on conservation, cassowaries, crocodiles and more. Interactive computer kiosks have animated DVD's and the Jurassic Forest walk, featuring simulated life-like dinosaurs from 100 million years ago to more recent mega fauna. Self guided audio tours feature interesting information of how the traditional local Aboriginal people made good use of the natural features of the rainforest.Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Daintree Discovery Centre by using our Cow Bay trip builder .

Daintree Discovery Centre Reviews

The consensus from us is the Centre is quite overpriced ($35 per adult) in comparison to other attractions. Yes the Centre and audio tours are informative but I guess it’s probably not for everyone. T... more »
Was on vacation from the United States, first time in a rain forest, so beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable about everything that we saw. Love the dinosaurs you have in park, watching them scare people was priceless! Got so many great pictures of everything, thank you for such a great experience!
The idea of the discovery centre is great, but the execution is not as good. Firstly, it is quite expensive for a set of short walks which last an hour at a stretch. Secondly, when we went, there was very little to see other than the trees and foliage. No flowers, no birds, no butterflies and no other animals could be seen, which was disappointing.
