The Queensland Art Gallery - Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is a single institution located across two adjacent river-side buildings in the Cultural Precinct at Brisbane's South Bank. QAGOMA holds a collection of historical, modern and contemporary art, and stages a dynamic program of Australian and international exhibitions. We are home to the Children's Art Centre which collaborates on interactive artworks with leading artists from around the world, and the Australian Cinematheque, the only dedicated cinema facility in an Australian art museum. QAGOMA operates its own retail outlets and cafes and restaurants, proceeds from which support the Gallery. • Visited GOMA over the weekend from Sydney and I actually loved it. The whole experience of Water GOMA, there was a very nice and friendly volunteer who walked us around and introduced key artworks...  more »
  • The Art Gallery as you would expect has a good collection of local artists as well as European ones, with no less than three Bridget Riley's. Well worth a visit..  more »

  • The last of the 3 museums in the trilogy along the South Bank. Personally, this is my favourite as you never know what you'll see here!! There are many wings off the main corridors full of fascinating art work from around the world. One of the gems here is the kids area hidden away underneath the main foyer. If you've got little ones under 10 they'll have plenty of fun experiencing the interactive installations. I cannot recommend this place enough!
  • Visited this place last year with my family. The place has lots of things to see and learn. There are areas where kids can play or do some activities to better appreciate the items found in the gallery. They also offer some free movie shows on Friday nights. It is very entertaining and wonderful especially since it is free 😊
